Brand Design Sprint Guide
Welcome to your Brand Design Sprint! We’re so excited to partner with you over the coming week and truly honored that you’ve trusted Forma Made with such an important part of your business. Your brand is more than a logo. It’s the visual language that helps people recognize you, connect with your story, and understand what makes your business meaningful.
Over your sprint week, we’ll be fully immersed in bringing that story to life. Every color, typeface, logo, and design decision will be thoughtfully considered with your business, your audience, and your goals in mind. Our hope is that you leave the week with more than a beautiful identity. We want you to have a cohesive brand that feels authentic, supports your growth, and gives you confidence in how you share your business with the world.
We genuinely love what we do, and we’re so grateful to be part of this chapter of your business. We can’t wait to create something beautiful together!
UNDERSTANDING THE SPRINT
Before we begin, we want to take a moment to explain how the Brand Design Sprint works.
Unlike a traditional branding project that unfolds over several weeks, the Brand Design Sprint is an immersive, one-week collaboration designed to create focused momentum. This approach allows us to stay immersed in your creative direction, maintain consistency, and develop each part of your visual identity with intention. It also allows you to walk away with a professionally designed brand in a fraction of the time of a traditional branding process.
Throughout the week, we’ll guide you through a series of milestones. You’ll have opportunities to review our progress, provide feedback, ask questions, and help us refine the identity as it develops.
The sprint is built on three simple principles: preparation, communication, and trust.
When everyone enters the week prepared and engaged, the process becomes collaborative, efficient, and enjoyable. Our goal is to create an experience that feels clear, organized, and exciting from beginning to end!
BEFORE THE SPRINT
Because the Brand Design Sprint moves quickly, much of the strategic preparation happens before your sprint officially begins.
Having everything prepared ahead of time allows us to spend the week designing rather than gathering information or making foundational business decisions. The more clarity we have before Monday morning, the more time we can dedicate to creating an exceptional identity.
Before your sprint begins, please complete the following:
Signed Contract: Your signed contract must be received before your scheduled sprint.
Payment Completed: Your initial booking payment is required to reserve your sprint week. The remaining project balance must be paid before the sprint begins, according to the payment schedule outlined in your proposal and invoice.
Brand Questionnaire: Please complete your Brand Questionnaire thoroughly. This helps us understand your business, audience, values, personality, goals, and overall vision. The more thoughtful and detailed your responses are, the stronger the creative foundation will be.
Visual Inspiration: Please contribute to the shared Pinterest board and gather any visual or written references that communicate the feeling you hope your brand will convey. These references help us understand your preferences, but they will serve as inspiration rather than something we directly replicate.
Brand Clarity: Take time to reflect on your story, values, audience, offerings, and long-term goals. We’ll discuss these during our kickoff call, so having clarity beforehand will help us begin the week with focus and intention.
Decision-Maker Availability: Please appoint one final decision maker who can be available during the sprint who can provide clear, consolidated feedback on behalf of the group.
DURING YOUR SPRINT
Your participation is an important part of the Brand Design Sprint. While our team will be fully immersed in designing your identity, we’ll rely on your timely feedback to keep the project moving forward. Please plan to check your email regularly, attend all scheduled meetings, and provide clear, consolidated feedback by the requested deadlines.
MONDAY | KICKOFF + CREATIVE FOUNDATION
We’ll begin the week with your Project Launch Call. Together, we’ll review your questionnaire, discuss your business and audience, clarify the vision for the brand, and answer any remaining questions before the design process begins.
Following the call, our team will begin developing the visual foundation of your brand, including:
Custom mood board
Initial color palette options
Typography options
Overall creative direction
Your first presentation will be delivered Monday evening (HST). Please review it and submit your consolidated feedback by Tuesday morning (HST).
*Client participation: Attend the Project Launch Call, remain available for questions, and provide feedback by Tuesday morning.
TUESDAY | INITIAL LOGO DIRECTIONS
Using the creative foundation established on Monday, we’ll begin developing the initial logo concepts and exploring how your brand can come to life as a cohesive visual identity.
Your Tuesday presentation will include:
Refined color and typography direction
Initial primary logo concepts
Supporting logo, icon, or submark ideas
You’ll review the presentation and provide consolidated feedback by the end of the day. Your feedback will help us identify the strongest direction to refine during the remainder of the week.
Client participation: Remain available for questions and provide feedback by the end of the day.
WEDNESDAY | MIDWEEK REVIEW + IDENTITY DEVELOPMENT
We’ll meet for a Midweek Review Call to discuss the initial concepts, answer questions, and confirm the strongest creative direction. By this stage, the primary color palette and typography should be approved so we can focus our remaining time on refining the logo suite.
Following the call, our team will further develop the selected direction, including:
Finalized color palette and typography
Finalized mood board and supporting visual direction
Refined logo suite
An updated presentation will be delivered Wednesday afternoon, with feedback due by the end of the day. Wednesday is the final opportunity to request significant changes to the approved creative direction.
Client participation: Attend the Midweek Review Call, remain available for questions, and provide feedback by the end of the day.
THURSDAY | FINAL REFINEMENT + APPROVAL
Thursday is dedicated to thoughtfully refining the selected identity. At this stage, we’ll make focused adjustments based on your Wednesday feedback, ensuring the logo suite feels polished, cohesive, and ready to represent your business. Because the creative direction has already been established, Thursday is intended for refinement rather than introducing entirely new concepts or directions.
Your final identity presentation will be delivered Thursday afternoon. Please review the presentation and provide final approval by the end of the day so we can prepare your guidelines and files on Friday.
Client participation: Remain available for questions, review the final identity, and provide approval by the end of the day.
FRIDAY | FINAL WALKTHROUGH + FILE DELIVERY
We’ll conclude the week with your Final Brand Launch Call! During this meeting, we’ll walk through the completed identity, explain how the logo suite should be used, review the core brand guidelines, and answer any remaining implementation questions.
Following the call, our team will complete the final file preparation and package everything for delivery.
